SAM, CAPTAIN
M.Y. NORTHERN ESCAPE, CEO MORRIS NAUTICAL

Sam’s career started in the Mediterranean and since then he has travelled the waters extensively gaining a wealth of knowledge of the local areas and the most exclusive anchorages. He has a love for fishing, diving and all things water and is racing off to the closest golf course in his time off.

With an emphasis on attention to detail and safety onboard, Sam and his crew are always attentive to the guests’ needs and aims to create a safe and unforgettable experience.

SAM, CAPTAIN

Sam brings a wealth of knowledge and a positive energy to his leadership role onboard M.Y. Northern Escape. Leaving Australia at just 17 years of age to pursue a career in yachting, Sam has since been travelling the world working on yachts ranging in size from 25m – 85m gaining his qualifications in both his role as Captain and also engineering. With both parents working as Captains on vessels in Australia, Sam’s life always revolved around the water, this is his true passion and first love. It gave him an insight into what the role of a Captain entails from an early age.

EMILY, CHIEF STEWARDESS

Growing up in North Queensland, Australia, Emily always enjoyed the sun and the sea. She decided to give up her job in banking back in 2011 and take on a completely different adventure in the yachting industry.

Joining her first vessel in the Mediterranean as a deck/stew and gaining her Yachtmaster, she switched to an interior role, and within a few years gained her first role as Chief Stewardess.

Emily has a passion for all things wine and has recently completed her WSET level 2. With a strong attention to detail, Emily loves to interact with the guests and ensure they always have everything they need to make their trip a memorable one.

JORDAN, CAPTAIN
M.Y. FLYING FISH

Over the past eight years, Jordan has built a diverse marine career as a Master IV and engineer on various tourism vessels across Tropical North Queensland. From cruising the Coral Sea to leading specialty expeditions to the Ribbon Reefs for research, tourism, and Dwarf Minke Whale season, Jordan has cultivated an intimate knowledge of the Great Barrier Reef. His expertise allows guests to discover exclusive anchorages and hidden dive spots, making each trip unforgettable. 

Jordan’s passion for the ocean extends to his hobbies, including scuba diving and snorkeling. When on land, he channels his adventurous spirit into marathon training, camping, or exploring the world on his next overseas trip. As Captain of M.Y. Flying Fish, Jordan blends his background in fine dining and maritime operations to deliver a bespoke and personalised experience, ensuring every journey is as memorable as the destinations.

Originally from the United Kingdom, Jordan began his career as a chef in fine dining restaurants, where he honed his craft and developed a passion for creating memories. His love for travel led him to work as a chef aboard a tourism vessel, sparking his connection to the ocean.

TOM, CHIEF ENGINEER,
M.Y. NORTHERN ESCAPE / FLEET ENGINEER, MORRIS NAUTICAL

Growing up on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, Tom’s life has always gravitated towards the water. Born into a family of engineers, Tom’s love for the water would soon take his engineering mind where it feels most at home. Tom’s career has not been your run-of-the-mill superyacht career, having started aboard one of the oldest superyachts in the world. With experience in both diesel and steam engines, Tom brings a plethora of knowledge and experience to the M.Y. Northern Escape. When he’s not running around behind the scenes, he enjoys spending his time exploring both above and below the water.

Whether it’s sailing the oceans or motorbike riding through the remote mountains of Cambodia, Tom’s thirst for adventure is never truly quenched. His career has taken him to some of the furthest reaches of the planet, teaching him invaluable skills along the way. From the AV to the engine room, no task is too big or too small for Tom ensuring that you enjoy your uninterrupted experience aboard M.Y. Northern Escape.


STE, CHIEF MATE
M.Y. NORTHERN ESCAPE

As the son of a Master Mariner, it was only fate that Ste would embark on a career on the ocean, sharing the same passion and dedication within the maritime industry as his father. From a young age, Ste has been in a leadership role teaching Kitesurfing in Wales and then in 2015 began his career on board his first Superyacht. As the Chief Mate on board M.Y. Northern Escape, Ste has a great understanding of seamanship and safety and places a significant emphasis on the guests’ overall experience, ensuring their enjoyment levels are always as high as possible and, of course, include some water sports. Ste loves to spend his downtime kitesurfing, fishing or having a round of golf. 


REBEKAH, STEWARDESS
M.Y. NORTHERN ESCAPE

Rebekah (Bex) grew up on a small Island in Wales which immediately taught her to appreciate the smaller things in life. From a young age, Bex always had a passion for the sea, water sports and travel and realised she could combine all 3 within the luxury yachting industry whilst travelling the world. Working in 5-star holiday accommodation, Bex was able to gain experience in what would lead to a role on board her first vessel as a stewardess in 2015. Bex has an effervescent personality which is highly contagious. She genuinely loves to see her guests enjoying themselves. In her spare time, you will always find Bex taking part in water sports be it kitesurfing, wakeboarding or soaking up the sun on a stand-up paddle. 


DAVID, DECKHAND
M.Y. FLYING FISH

David brings hands-on expertise and a lifetime passion for boats and the ocean. Originally from Kalgoorlie, Western Australia, and with six years spent in the Pilbara, David combines a wealth of knowledge from diverse marine experiences. 

Over the years, David has managed vessel refits, he has worked on a 24m day charter boat out of Broome and spent time in the Montebello Islands on a 24m yacht. Before transitioning to the marine world, David spent 12 years in mining and five years managing a shipyard in Karratha and as a cabinet maker by trade. In his free time, David enjoys fishing and working on boats, including his own prized 30ft Wellcraft, which he relocated from Karratha to Cairns—an epic 4000km journey. Whether maintaining vessels or exploring the ocean, David’s passion for what he does is present. With a wealth of practical experience, David ensures M.Y. Flying Fish operates at its best, delivering exceptional experiences for all on board. 


CANDICE, DECKHAND/STEWARDESS
M.Y. FLYING FISH

Originally from Perth and raised in Cairns, Candice considers the Great Barrier Reef her backyard  – a fitting foundation for her role as Deckhand/Stewardess aboard M.Y. Flying Fish. With over five years of marine industry experience, Candice brings a versatile skillset to the team, holding both a coxswain ticket and certification as a dive master. Her dual capabilities allow her to confidently support deck operations while also being solely responsible for maintaining the vessel’s interior to a premium standard.

Candice’s background spans hospitality and automotive retail, and she’s no stranger to remote operations, having worked on Lizard Island, and aboard various charter boats across Cairns, Port Douglas, and the West Coast, including expeditions through the Kimberley from Darwin to Broome. With a love for the ocean, Candice spends her downtime diving, fishing, freediving, and enjoying any opportunity to be on or under the water. With a deep knowledge of the reef and a guest-first approach, she’s an integral part of the Morris Nautical team, bringing warmth, capability, and professionalism to every charter.


CHRISTOPHER, CHIEF ENGINEER
M.Y. BELUGA

Born and raised on the Sunshine Coast, QLD, Chris was found in the garage at 12 months old grasping a tyre iron and attempting to get it to the wheel of the car. Chris pursued an early career in the marine industry and has worked on a variety of vessels and industry sectors globally, ranging from commercial harvest diving to Master and engineer on passenger ferries and tugboats, to international superyacht crew on both sailing and motor yachts.

Chris holds an ‘IYT Master of yachts 200tn’ certification, Australian ‘Master, class 5’, MED 2 and a Y3 Chief engineer certification. He has been in the superyacht industry for over 15 years, during which time he has acted as deck crew, Chief engineer and 2nd Engineer on a number of notable motor and sailing yachts including Pumula, Dragonfly, Jack’s Sin, Koo, Qing, Aquamarina, BaBa’s, Nero, Lunasea Heus and currently M.Y Beluga. Chris has a keen interest in flying sports, aviation, water sports and motor sports, and is regularly found skydiving, paragliding, surfing, sailing, motorbike riding and kiteboarding. Chris has a diverse home life exploring the world in his camper van or sailing yacht when not working onboard.


JESS, CHIEF STEWARDESS
M.Y. BELUGA

Originally from Cairns, Jess grew up immersed in marine life and the Great Barrier Reef. With a captain for a father and parents who ran a scuba diving business, life on the water came naturally, shaping her deep love for the ocean from a young age.

Before stepping into the world of yachting, she built a strong background in marine tourism along the Great Barrier Reef, working aboard reef vessels and charter boats throughout North Queensland. After years of eyeing down the superyachts in the marina, it was only a matter of time before she stepped onboard one and turned it into a rewarding career. Jess thrives on creating memorable, personalised experiences for charter guests. She has a passion for dive-focused charters and tropical cruising, particularly around the east coast of Australia, Papua New Guinea, and the South Pacific, where engaging with local communities and village life adds something truly special to each trip. Her love for the ocean extends beyond work. Off duty, Jess enjoys scuba diving, yoga, hiking, and just about any outdoor adventure that keeps her close to nature.


ACACIA, DECKHAND / STEWARDESS
M.Y. BELUGA

Acacia brings a passion for adventure and hospitality both above and below the waterline. As a Master Reef Guide, dive instructor, and snorkel guide, she ensures guests experience the Great Barrier Reef with knowledge. Originally from Utah, Acacia has called Australia home since the age of 18, moving to Port Douglas with a dream of working on boats on the Great Barrier Reef. Acacia’s work experience spans dive boats, sailing yachts, and motor vessels – finding her in unique locations including the Whitsundays and Ribbon Reefs.

Her background in tourism and hospitality allows her to deliver enhanced guest experiences. Acacia’s hobbies, from snowboarding to underwater photography, reflect her adventurous spirit. Passionate about marine conservation, she dedicates her free time to volunteering with organizations like Marine Rescue, Surf Life Saving, Great Barrier Reef Legacy, and Citizens of the Great Barrier Reef, contributing to the preservation of marine ecosystems.


JARROD, FIRST MATE
M.Y. BELUGA

Originally from the coastal town of Cape Paterson in Victoria, Jarrod brings both technical skill and a deep passion for the ocean to his role as First Mate aboard M.Y. Beluga. With over six years of experience in the maritime industry, Jarrod is responsible for the vessel’s general maintenance as well as the safe operation of onboard systems and equipment.

Jarrod’s journey began with studies in marine biology at university in Townsville, which led to his first sea-time aboard a prawn trawler in the Coral Sea. He went on to work aboard a 113-metre mining transfer vessel for P&O Maritime, operating cranes, heavy machinery, and a 30-metre hydraulic boom. At just 19, he purchased and refitted his own 12-metre 1977 sloop, Pelagicus, which sparked his connection to the maritime community. Since then, he has completed delivery work on vessels such as M.Y. True Blue and M.Y. New Journey, including international voyages and a remote stay in Papua New Guinea, where he lived with a local family, spearfishing and living from the sea.

Jarrod’s passions include sailing, free-diving, spearfishing, and scuba diving – as well as trekking through national parks in New Zealand and the Italian Dolomites. His dedication to the craft and the environment makes him a knowledgeable guide on the Great Barrier Reef.
